The BMAD Bike and Music festival is one of the biggest family May bank holiday attractions & highlights of South Devon’s social calendar. http://www.bmad.co.uk/festival.html
The pressure is on for the BMAD 2010 Bike and Music festival as it will take place over 30th April, 1st & 2nd May.
The event as it is now a major tourist attraction expected to bring an extra 15,000 to 20,000 visitors to Paignton and at least 12,000 bikes of all shapes and sizes!
If just a few of your members attend we can
gather a great deal more for charity!
The ZZ Tops have confirmed that they
will now open the festival at 7.00pm on Friday 30th April.
Goto http://www.bmad.co.uk/festival.html for the full blow by blow rundown!
We raised and distributed over £35,000 last year and expect to break that record significantly this year. The beneficiaries included Air Ambulance, St Johns Ambulance and many disabled children and their carers. This year we are confident that it will do even better.
It started in 2002 with an idea by the
founders of Bikers Make A Difference - BMAD, Kelvin and Jane Halloran.
That idea was to have a social gathering of bikers on Paignton Seafront
in Devon. He wanted to raise money for charity and have a good time as
well. Which is exactly what has happened.
Paignton Bike Night saw its birth in 2003 and has gone on to
become the longest running largest regular social gathering of bikers in
the South West of England. This year the stage is bigger with more
bands and varied music, spanning the full three days of the festival. We
have the Arena events with spectacular biking related shows, Wall of
Death and of course beer tents, food and motor cycle related vendors
& merchandise – plus there are the bikes and competitions! Young and
old are fascinated by the display of two wheel and three wheel hardware
on display. Mega ZZ Tops are kicking us in to action on the 30th
April at 7pm on the main stage.
Each year on Paignton Seafront we regularly have a mile of
bikes parked side by side every Wednesday evening from May to Sept. If
the sun shines, we are expecting approximately 12,000 bikes! The
A30, A380 and A35 roads offer some of the best rides in the south west
so getting here is a dream.

Sunday 25th July 2010
Hi my name is Liam Dwyer
Please give me two minutes of your time!
I was a keen motor bike rider for 19 years. I am now looking for help through the power of the motor bike. On Sunday 25th July 2010 I am organising a motor bike ride on the M25 clock wise. The M25 is 117 miles in total. By doing this ride I hope to gain publicity for the MND Association. My intention is to start at 13.00hrs having motor bikes joining at 5 junctions all this information will be on the website below. The only thing that I ask is for bikers to wear a tabard with the Motor Neurone Disease Association logo on it so we can create awareness for this deadly disease which I have myself. For people who don’t know anything about this disease it’s a neurological condition which attacks all your bodily functions. A staggering five people in the UK alone die a Day from this disease. I was diagnosed in September 2005 and at that time I was given just 18 months to live. I call myself lucky because the form I have is giving me longer but I still don’t know how long I have. This is the furthest in advance I have organised anything. As long as I can get it off the ground I will have achieved what I set out to do.
This year I built a disabled website to help others with useful information which I have learnt over the past four years. On the home page I have created a link M25 Circle of Life Sunday 25th July 2010) with the information all about this event, it’s on www.disabled4disabled.co.uk my email is disabled4disabled@gmail.com . If you can’t help with this can you forward this information to others who you think can.
Anyone who wishes to make a donation direct to the Motor Neurone Disease Association can do so safely and easily through www.justgiving.com/liam-dwyer-m25circle-of-life all proceeds will then go to Kings College University Hospital for research into one day finding a cure for this disease.
Hoping for Your Support
Liam
